Data Types

APImetrics has 4 primary types of data aggregations — see Reporting & Analytics for the full capabilities including KPI dashboards, latency waterfalls, and automated compliance reports:

  • Quality Analytics — machine-generated analysis of API performance over a week or month
  • Reports — configurable reports on individual or groups of APIs
  • Results — the detailed results of a specific monitor
  • Stats — detailed analysis of the performance of a specific API

You can't access Stats directly from the Reporting menu but links to stats are available from any monitor.

You need to schedule calls to see data

We can only report on calls that have been scheduled and are generating data!

Types of Data Available

APImetrics provides several levels of reporting for API performance. This includes the following:

  • General pass/fail reports
  • API level stats including detailed geographical analysis
  • Latency analysis

All data is stored by call breakdown and percentile of the data.

Call breakdowns stored are:

  • DNS look up time
  • TCP connect time
  • HTTPS handshake time
  • Upload time
  • Processing time
  • Download Time
  • Total Time
  • Time to first byte

Data can be displayed in the following ways:

  • Pass fail graphs
  • Latency graphs
  • Latency histograms
  • Heatmaps showing either a time period or a cummulative time period
  • Return packet size graphs
  • Maps showing latency by geography
tip

SLO and SLA data can be exported as compliance-ready evidence. See SLO/SLA Management for details on regulator-ready reporting and vendor attribution.
