Copy or move a report
Copy a report to reuse its layout in another project, or move it to another project. The report's monitors do not go with it.
Prerequisites
- At least Editor access to the report's project, and Owner or Editor access to the destination project.
Steps
-
In the sidebar, under Investigate, select Status Reports and open the report. Select Copy or Move in its toolbar, next to CSV and Print.
Manage Resources opens with Report and this report already selected. You can also open it from the sidebar under Project Administration > Project Export / Import (open it in the platform) and choose Report.
-
Check that Copy or Move is selected under Copy or Move.
-
Choose the destination project. To duplicate the report in its own project, pick that project.
-
Select Copy or Move. A report has no dry run: nothing appears under the destination before you select the button.
-
In Are you sure?, select Copy or Move again. For a move, the dialog notes that the report's monitors stay where they are.
What carries over
Copying or moving a report copies or moves the report only. No monitors are copied or moved. A report in another project still reports on the monitors in the original project, so anyone viewing it needs access to those monitors. To report on monitors in the destination project, create a report there instead.
Next steps
- Create reports: what a report shows and how to edit it.
- Copy or move resources between projects: the other resource types.
