Manage the emails APIContext sends you

APIContext sends emails in groups, such as the Insights Report. You control two things: which groups of email you receive, and which status emails you receive for each Project. Both settings apply only to your own account and email address.

An alert email goes to the address typed into an alert in Alerts & Webhooks. The alert decides who gets it; the APImetrics Alert group below only lets you stop alert emails to your own address. To change who an alert emails, see Email alerts and Setting alerts.

Prerequisites

  • An APIContext account that you can sign in to.
  • For project status emails, access to the Project.

Choose which emails you receive

  1. Open the user menu at the top right of the portal and select Email Settings, or go straight to Email Settings.
  2. Find the email group you want to change. Each group has a switch, a name, and a description.
  3. Switch the group on to receive its emails, or off to stop receiving them.

The change is saved when you move the switch. You do not need to select a save button.

The page lists five groups, each with the description shown here:

GroupDescription on the page
Insights ReportsWeekly and Monthly Insights reports, showing your APIs CASC scores
APImetrics AlertThese emails are sent when there has been an alert relating to an API call
Daily UpdateDaily updates on the status of your API calls
Weekly UpdateWeekly updates on the status of your API calls
Project UpdatesProject-level updates

Switching off Project Updates stops the Project status emails for every Project. To stop them for one Project only, use its Daily, Weekly, and Monthly switches instead (below).

The unsubscribe link in an APIContext email switches off that email's group for your address, the same as the switch on this page. To receive those emails again, open Email Settings and switch the group back on.

What Insights Report emails are

The Insights Report is a weekly email, sent to you and covering every Project you can access. Its subject starts with "CASC alerts for week beginning" and the date. It reports Monitors whose CASC score, shown in the portal as the Quality Score, changed notably during the week. If no Monitor has changed notably, APIContext does not send the email.

Switching off the Insights Report group stops this email. It does not affect alert emails, and it does not change the CASC score of any Monitor.

Choose which status emails you receive for a Project

  1. Select the Project in the Project picker.
  2. Open the Project Settings page.
  3. In the Project Email Settings section, find Project status emails.
  4. Switch Daily, Weekly, or Monthly on or off. You can turn on more than one.

The change is saved when you move the switch. Each switch controls your own subscription to this Project only, so other users of the Project keep their own settings.

To see what a status email looks like before the next one arrives, select Send today's email in the same section. APIContext sends you the Project's most recent daily status email. Its subject is the name of the Project and the date.

Result

Your Email Settings page shows each group of email as on or off. The Project Email Settings section shows which of the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly status emails you receive for that Project.
